4 Simple Steps to Get Your ESA Documentation

Here's exactly what happens once you start your evaluation with us.

Step 01

Choose Your Path

Select from an ESA letter for college and housing, or a Psychiatric Service Dog letter. Each path routes you to the specific documentation your school, landlord, or housing office requires.

  • Multiple documentation paths
  • Matched to your specific need

Step 02

Complete Your Intake

Create your account on our patient portal, complete a quick intake, and tell us about your needs, your emotional wellbeing, your living situation, and the pet who supports you.

  • HIPAA compliant portal
  • Confidential to your clinical team

Step 03

Meet With Your Licensed Therapist

Complete 2 to 4 clinical sessions across 2 to 3 weeks with a licensed mental health professional in your state. Eligibility is evaluated over multiple sessions, not a single form.

  • 2 to 4 clinical sessions
  • State-licensed professional

Step 04

Receive Your Documentation

If approved, your therapist prepares and signs your official ESA letter. You receive an immediate digital copy plus guidance on submitting it to your school's housing office or landlord.

  • FHA and HUD compliant
  • Ready to be printed and submitted

Final approval depends on the licensed therapist's clinical judgment. Every case is reviewed individually.

FAQs

Straight answers about PSD letters, ADA rights, and public access rights.

How does the ESA evaluation process work?

You start by choosing your path (college, housing, or PSD), complete your intake on our patient portal, then meet with a licensed therapist across 2 to 4 sessions over 2 to 3 weeks. If approved, your letter is delivered digitally along with submission guidance for your school or landlord.

Is everything completed online?

Yes. From your first application to your final letter, everything happens on your patient portal and through secure video sessions with your licensed therapist. No clinic visits, no paperwork to mail.

How is my eligibility determined?

A licensed mental health professional reviews your intake and conducts a real clinical evaluation across your sessions. Eligibility is based on their clinical judgment, never on an automated system or a template.

Is my information private and secure?

Yes. Our patient portal is HIPAA compliant, and your information is used only by your clinical team for your evaluation.

When will I receive my ESA letter if approved?

Your letter is typically ready within a few business days of your final session. It's delivered digitally to your patient portal, so you can download and submit it immediately.

What happens if I am not eligible?

If your therapist determines you don't qualify, they'll explain their reasoning. Not every evaluation ends in an ESA letter, and eligibility can never be guaranteed. See our refund policy for more information.

Can I use my ESA letter for housing?

Yes. Our letters are formatted to meet Fair Housing Act and HUD requirements, which cover ESA accommodations in both college housing and standard rentals. Your landlord or housing office may verify the letter using your therapist's contact information.

What is included in my ESA letter?

Your letter includes your therapist's name, license number, state of licensure, signature, contact details, and the recommendation language landlords and housing offices look for. It's formatted to meet standard documentation requirements.
